OVERVIEW

"Building Bridges: The New Europe And The New Asia" aired on Singapore television from January to February 2000.

The documentary reflected on the historic links between the two regions and examined how modern-day ties were being forged by the ASEM process in the areas of politics, culture, education, and business.

The series also showcased ASEF events in Berlin and Copenhagen.

Host Tommy Koh, then ASEF Executive Director, engaged many personalities ranging from royalty to academics, politicians, and international civil servants to discuss issues that united and divided Asia and Europe. In the programme, Koh also shared his personal vision of Asia-Europe relations.
